Mostly because there was nothing else to watch but also because it was relevant to my probable career, I spent last night watching a science channel show about Saturn's moon Titan and the Cassini/Huygens mission
also my sister was working on a photoshop project relating to space, and was considering a 9-planet diagram of the solar system, to which I vehemently stated "pluto is not a planet!"
why should pluto get all the attention? the solar system has several other locations that are equally deserving of attention ... hence this blog post is dedicated to the objects in the solar system, dwarf planets and large moons, that have achieved
hydrostatic equilibrium, but are unfortunate in that they are not classified as planets
Ceres
Pluto
Haumea
Makemake
Eris
Io
Europa
Ganymede
Callisto
Mimas
Enceladus
Tethys
Dione
Rhea
Titan
Iapetus
Miranda
Umbriel
Ariel
Titania
Oberon
Triton
Charon
and, of course, our own moon, without which none of us would be here to even care
also, i meant this to be a photo blog, but i lack time and patience to copy 24 pictures of wikipedia, so ill just have to settle for this:
